@reevesAstronomy Your right the extreme weather conditions on Mars make difficult eletronic equipment too work properly or at all. For example that the Martian night temperatures are much lower than -80c (-100+F) that was recorded in Siberia, try -125C at night, and we want to send people eventually too Mars, no way I'd go there or anybody in their right mind..
That rover has to be pretty tough too survive on the red planet. The Martian nights are colder than anywhere on earth even in Antactica. Then there's those viloent sand storms, in early summer, with those hurricaine force winds, that blanklet most of Mars. I rekon their life span's pretty short out there.

The next time they send a probe, they must target a REALLY interesting place, such as the Mariner valley or Olympus Monts, or the Helenas Basen
