  • Hi....where to buy Arches watercolour paper in Singapore? Artfriend doesnt seem to sell that. Thx

  • @bubumuffin You may get from Strait Commercial Art but quite expensive like SGD10+ per piece. I buy online from aswexpressdotcom_ in bulk.

  • @ngwoonlam : They can ship Singapore directly now. Reasonable shipping price.

  • @ngwoonlam thanks. i ordered 40 sheets of 140lb Arches, however during the payment option...they are unable to tell me what is the shipping charge.. :(.... i scared later they suddenly drop a bomb on me on the shipping charge. do you roughly know how much is the shipping?

PS: you're right, now Straits Co, charged 12.80 per sheet of 140lb Arches!

    Thanks in advance

  • @bubumuffin : They showed the total before I confirmed the payment. I don't why you don't see the shipping charge. Did you register an account? I had an account with them since I was in USA. You may email them first for the shipping charge before you buy. That could be better.

  • @ngwoonlam thx for the info :), did u ship them to here directly? or u use butler like comgateway and such?

  • @ngwoonlam

.. ungrateful of me to thank you only one week after your helpful advice, but seriously, thank you !

  • @kkdkk7 Yes, coat a layer of gesso. And you can work with watercolor on it but the wetting is not going to be good. So you need a lot more paint and patience to work. Or just go with acrylic directly. Acrylic doesnt bother about the paper absorbing colors because you can go as many layers as you wish.

  • @ngwoonlam

Thank you for the swift reply, I really appreciate that ..

When u said "If it is gone, paint acrylic or coat gesso and paint watercolor" .. in case I misunderstand, do u mean to apply watercolour on acrylic/gesso-coated paper ?

..this sounds adventurous to me, how will watercolour behave in this case ?

    (sorry to bother..)

  • @kkdkk7 Hi, I used to keep them in the plastic bag given and put some dried silicon wrapped with cloth. I buy paper from Strait Commercial. Paper is in 25 pcs pack. Paper goes fast, so their stock should be quite fresh.

The best is buy and paint. Don't buy to keep. If it is gone, paint acrylic or coat gesso and paint watercolor.
