this is what's great about the USA- we have freedom. freedom to choose who we vote for and elect, freedom to state our political, social, and other beliefs freely and free to disagree with eachother and the government. People who are hating on Edwards or any candidate or govt. official or are hating on musicians like Jackson and Bobbie- just know that your right to publicly complain came about because of people who stood up for themselves and their future country. speaking out created the USA

Cool pants, Jackson !
-
and John Edwards proved to be just another sleaze ball--too bad, but these guys should have read the fine print first and read something else besides the campaign crap

Politics are politics. Everyone has one. Not the point of the song. John Prine (he wrote it) survived a cancer. Health care or lack thereof was not the point, either. It is a freaking beautiful piece of music. Art is in the mind of the beholder.

How's that Edward thing working today??? just like the book says SHUT UP AND SING this message flew down from NH

Anybody who can leave a nasty comment here while listening to this song has to have some emotional issues

@juscurious You are an idiot. Your stupidity is the problem with this country. Read a fact - any fact - you ignorant piece of trash before you speak. Healthcare is being driven up by your and your issue, who couldn't survive absent the munificence of such an increasingly liberal system.

Well, I don't know about You but I'm sure glad John Edwards, the lying, cheating bastard failed to get elected. How many interns do you think he might have impregnated only to deny them as well. Yes, Elizabeth was a class act "angel", but if anything John was her demon! I guess you can fool some of the people some of the time but sooner or later your true self will be revealed. Yes, we all have demons in our closets, but we're not all trying to be the President!
All kinds of artists, have spoken out on the social issues of their day throughout history, e.g. Woodie Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan at one time, Bruce Springsteen. In many cases their understanding of social issues is what defined them as artists. When Pablo Picasso was in France some Nazi officers visited his shop and saw the mural "Geurnica"
depicting the massacre. They asked "did you do this?" "No." He replied. "You did." Artists are human beings and citizens. They should speak out.

I RESPECT ANYONE WHO HAS THE PIBLICS EAR FOR BEING BRAVE ENOUGH TO EXPRESS THEIR OPINIONS AND STAND BEHIND THEM. DOESN'T MATTER WHICH OPINION THEY HAVE. IF YOU ALL HAD THE FORUM, WOULDN'T YOU MAKE USE OF IT. OTHERWISE YOU'D HAVE TO SEAL YOURSELF AWAY FROM THE WORLD. rIGHT? BONNIE AND JACKSON ARE TWO OF MY HEROES, FOR THEIR MUSICAL GENIUS, AND THEIR COMMITMENT TO HELPING TO CHANGE THE WORLD.
