Kenny does a remarkable job on his 1972 "You Almost Slipped My Mind" album covering Don Gibson's #1 hit from that same year. I'm in the mood for some good hard country music today, dammit!

  • Another great posting Wilbur from the big man from Kentucky. Could you upload also the title track of the album "You Almost Slipped My Mind"(Troy Seals/Don Goodman)? Seals, who is a cousin of the late great Johnny Duncan co-wrote this track with Goodman after his move to Country from Soul in the late sixties/early seventies. Kenny's version of the song is superb.

  • @TheGarretdeas I should have "You Almost Slipped My Mind" already up...awesome song, was listening to it on CD in my car tonight!

  • Jay - I hear ya! Great song!

They just don't make much good county music anymore. Man, I miss the 70's. I loved music back then. I was a kid, but damn it, I loved this kind of stuff. Still do! There is just a sound to these 70's songs that I love.

  • @Michinil Thanks :) You were a kid in the 70's? I pictured you as an 80's kid like me! But yes, they don't make country like this anymore, a damn shame too. At least I got 4000 singles and a few hundred albums to make up the deficit.
