Here's a great Caltex ad from '69, featuring the then brand-spanking new HT Monaro - two of 'em!

Yeah, it's a ridiculous idea - two guys flogging around together in identical Monaros, but it makes for a nifty commercial...

  • Nice commercial! In Caltex petrol stations: What is ASTRON?

  • "Astron" was an additive they put in the fuel back then, they pretty much all had them: Golden Fleece had Activ-8, Shell had ICA, Ampol had Boron, BP had Benzol, etc...

  • best car on the road!

  • does anyone remember the greek myth of the two blonde brothers who save the drowning winged girl-

& how do you spell monaro in greek?

  • I wish they had adds like these ones these days instead of those stupid Honda civic ones. My opinion the HT Monaro GTS 350 is the best muscle car in existance. Fact the HT Monaro GTS 350 is the best muscle car in existance no doubt about it.

  • Theres two Monaros that will rust away to nothing

  • imagine driving your nice Monaro in that salt water today! The yacht is a 'Quick Cat' catamaran. I had one in 1974. It weighed a ton! Thanks for posting Doc!

  • Awesome - thanks for posting!
