*edit* I DO NOT KNOW WHO DID THE MUSIC!! Instead of constantly asking here why not WRITE the nice folk at http://www.loc.gov/literacy/ and ask THEM, I wager you'll find out a lot faster then asking here.

In an effort to inspire young people to become lifelong learners and encourage reading, the Ad Council and the Library of Congress have launched a new series of public service advertisements (PSAs) to promote the Lifelong Literacy campaign. According to the National Institute for Literacy, success in school, and life, starts with literacy. When kids become good readers in the early grades, they are more likely to become better learners throughout their school years and beyond. While parental involvement is critical, it ultimately comes down to inspiring the individual person not only to read books but to also find their own passion about reading in all forms.

Created pro bono by The Geppetto Group, Buena Vista Home Entertainment and the Brigham Young University (BYU) Ad Lab, the new TV and web PSAs encourage children to "explore new worlds" and visit www.Literacy.gov.

  • I think the music was written for the commercial. I have no idea who wrote it or what its name is.

  • I love these commercials so much, they make me feel a lot younger since I was the biggest bookworm as a kid :)

  • The music used in this PSA is titled "New Dawn." The composer is Terry Devine-King. The musical selection is 1:32 seconds in length. It was released October 8, 2006. And, it is contained on the Cavendish Music Library CD "Choose Your Weapon: Fantasy Adventure."

  • It's out there.

  • The company produces "soundtrack-y" (for lack of a better term) music. Different collections for tension, fantasy, build up, etc., scenes in films, trailers, ads, etc. Download free, pay when it gets used "in production."

  • @Elanel I do too! I wish it was actually reality!

  • I tracked down the music information, but it's not promising. Here's the response from one contact:

We used a music group called Non-Stop Music out of Salt Lake for that music. It can be found through them at:

CAVT disc 1 track #5 "New Dawn"

The second, from the company who produced the music:

Thank you for your interest. We are a production music library and offer

our music to producers for their commercials, videos, films, etc.

If anyone is able to get more, please let me know. Thanks!
