This was my final project for Compositing and Scene Finishing (CSF) at Full Sail University. We were given a video clip, and had to track all the motion in Syntheyes to recreate the camera movement in 3D. After that, we brought the data into Maya, and had to add in some CG Elements (or in my case, replace the entire background) and add in the Helmet. Then we rendered all that out, and had to composite it all together in Nuke.

There are w few problems that I ran out of time to fix, namely some color problems, and some problems with the rotoscoping around he actor. But I still think it came out rather well.

  • How did u put urself back on top? Plz

  • @GuyWithAChannel That's not actually me, but the way it's done is by rotoscoping out the actor. Basically going frame by frame and cutting out the background (though it's a little bit easier than that, if you can get good track points and the interpolated keyframes from the beziers line up.)

  • @ReiSnatcher Hey thanks a ton! But I have one last question... in movies like transformers how do they put the actor back on top and keep all the detail like hair without greenscreen? Thanks a bunch.
