Released in 1988, this is another rather difficult to find anime. There is a second part that I will upload when i get time. Saved off of VHS, so I apologize for the quality, I cleaned it up as best I could. Again, no subtitles, but easy enough to follow.

In present day Hokkaido, dragons have begun to appear and are being mercilessly slaughtered by the humans. For one dragon named Carmine, his centuries of life will include witnessing the death of his mother and closest friends, utter destruction at the hands of invading demons, and the companionship of young women who have captured his heart. Dragon Century follows Carmine over the span of hundreds of years, as he watches the world grow and change, and upholds his vow, above all others, to protect it from those who would destroy it...

  • The characteristics and foreground of this anime sort of remind me of the berserk cartoon and makes me think of the way the story is put together reminds me of the studio ghibli movie "Spirited Away" with Riko like Chihiro and Carmine like Haku though except that Carmine is a real dragon and cannot magically transform into a human.

  • @Flegan777 How about the Legendz anime and it's ending, have you ever seen how sad that one is? Go check it out for yourself.

  • Torn to pieces, no anime I've seen to date have quite as much depth of soul and such a spectacular reach.

  • Although I can not understand what they are saying the ending was brilliant. I mean it was something that I longed for the entire time I watched animes with science fiction. That something is that human's pay the price as well not just the creature.

  • I love this film SO much! I was given the original VHS back in the 90s, it's such a touching film. Since then I managed to get hold of the original soundtrack and both parts on Laserdisc from a Japanese auction. Apart from opening them once to get a clean rip of the video, I've left them untouched.

  • AHHH I LOVE ANIMATION WITH DRAGONS! THERE SUCH SRONG FIERCE WARRIORS WHO FIGHT WITH PASSION FOE THERE IDEALS!

  • Sorry I wasn't trying to make that sound like bragging Sho. And I'd love to put it up, only I don't have the means to do so

  • cool....

i dont know, i only watched this part, the red dragon kinda reminds me of the red/brown gargoyle..
