My response to CuanMarce2's 4th video to me, broken into the following sections:

1. INTRO
(starts at 0.28secs)
I summarise CuanMarce2's 'God is the conscious universe' argument.

2. YOUR COUNTER-ARGUMENT
(starts at 1.30secs)
I look at CuanMarce2's single counter argument, and counter it.

3. 'PROOF'
(starts at 3.28secs)
I answer CuanMarce2's suggestion that I don't accept any kind of proof.

4. 'CLARIFICATION'
(starts at 4.04secs)
My response to CuanMarce2's divisions of atheists, agnostics and theists. The relationship between these groups can be represented in many ways — and I offer one broad visual — but a crucial factor here is the distinction between questions of belief and of knowledge.

5. GETTING IT WRONG
(starts at 5.00secs)
The bulk of the video, in which I look at CuanMarce2's continual and ever-inaccurate practice of analysing me, and encourage him to instead address the arguments.

6. BOREDOM THRESHOLD
(starts at 8.24secs)
I outline what stimulates me and what I find tedious in debate/debate tactics.

  • I think I will subscribe to this. I find your videos mentally stimulating.

  • @MrJXT1 Thanks — and welcome to the channel.

  • Given that he said "If it causes you stress" it could be read as a conditional statement.

  • @qtheplatypus '.... it could be read as a conditional statement.'

—Nope, it was definitely a conditional statement — due to the 'if'. But it was also, clearly, a rhetorical insinuation. This discussion took place years ago and after this video, CuanMarce acknowledged he had some unconscious hostility that was 'leaking out' in statements like this. I think he's a great guy.

  • @TheraminTrees

Do you have that Tedious/stimulating diagram and explanation as a video by itself? because that was so completly spot-on!

  • @Roenazarrek LOL — I sometimes wish I had it included in every video. You know, I think 99% of 'discussion' from critics quickly veers into completely undisciplined personal rubbish — speculations on intentions/motives, etc. It's a real phenomenon on here. Sad that productive discussion gets derailed by that stuff.

  • You're an outstanding debater. I had an opponent who used an equivocation or changed the definition of supernatural, addressing that humans are supernatural.

  • This was great. I was laughing so hard. You make a lot of sense and are cute as can be. I find your videos enjoyable....that's why I subscribed after watching one video.

  • I wish I could have you narrate my life. Such a comfortable voice.

  • Bravo. Applying logic in speech like that needs mastery.

But I have one remark to do about addressing the person. We can't assume that everyone experiences situations with pure logic as you. Some people might be limited by their fears etc. and will never admit to that. Is it wrong to tell it to their face that they are biased towards an opinion or situation due to their phychological limitations?

  • Dude's Master Debater. Found this channel through @QualiaSoup. I like those that can logically put religious fucks in their place. Personally, I like the caveman approach with much vulgarity. I despise religion. I completely, totally and abso-motherfuckin'-lutely abhor religion. But it makes me laugh, so it does have 1 purpose. I am stoned. I am human. Therfeore, all humans are stoned. Puff puff pass.

  • I am Pennsylvanian.

I am a part of North America.

    Therefore North America is Pennsylvanian.

  • After it rains, the street is wet. The street is wet, therefore it has rained. Fallacy. A fire fighter came by and checked the fire hydrant on the street corner by opening the valve letting out quite a lot of water. Therefore, the street is wet. One of the oldest logic fallacies there is. This fallacy has been responsible for a lot of faulty arguments about our universe. Just because we can't see the connection between cause and effect, does not mean there is no connection.

  • Wow remind me to never get into an argument with you TheraminTrees

  • LOL! I love your videos. =P

  • I find your videos invigorating to my brain, you've just earned yourself another fan. Cheers

  • I love the way you debate haha

  • It would be interesting to hear your view of what Consciousness is in regards to your training (psychology?)
