This is my 3 part Carl Macek Dedication Reviews. He is a man who brought animes from Japan and introduced them to the English-speaking world in the 80's and I am reviewing the animes that he has famously distributed.

The following animes that are to be reviewed:

3. Vampire Hunter D

In the distant future where vampires rule the night, a young woman named Doris Lang was bitten by a vampire named Count Magnus Lee. Now she hires a vampire hunter named D to protect her and her little brother, Dan from becoming the Counts vampire bride.

i when I tried to remember horror of dracula, I could only remember christopher lee. I know peter cushing but damn they look so similar.

@jungleman68 Yeah, Horror of Dracula was part of the inspiration to the VHD novels and movies.

you know there is another graphic novel version of D coming out? and also in case you care, jurassic park comics.

@jungleman68 Yeah, I knew and I can't wait for it to come out. I am not a big fan of Jurassic Park, I like the 1st movie. 2nd and 3rd, not that good.

This is classic anime right here. One of my very first exposures to Japanese animated films when I was a young pup in the mid-90's.

From here, anime only got better..... It was Street Fighter II, Golgo 13, Crying Freeman, AKIRA, Wicked City, Ninja Scroll...etc. This type of classic anime is like old-school Jazz like John Coltrane & Miles Davis....just straight-ahead greatness that people keep refering back to & eventually copying

You know the character designs remain me very much of characters from Guyver out of control movie for example, Doris brother Dan looks resembles to Sho Fukamachi, and Doris look's like Valkyria who in that movie they turn her into a female Guyver 2, well that's my thought about the characters resemblance, maybe the animators were also the ones how work on the Guyver out of control ,how knows.
