A golfer who used an 80-year-old putter from the tee on a windy day has been credited with sinking the longest known putt.
Fergus Muir, 66, from St Andrews, used a hickory-shafted putter on the par-3 fifth hole at the town's Eden Course and recorded a hole in one.
The feat has been ratified by Guinness World Records as a putt of 375ft, smashing the previous record of 166ft, which was set at Fishwick Hall golf club in Preston three years ago.

no I actually have a chipper, my dad gave it to me for christmas and it's actually a pretty useless club...kinda fun to hit off the tee though :o)

Hitting a putter off the tee is kinda fun, you should try it next time on the range. I can hit my chipper 120 yds, lol.

yea i'd have to agree with fire0star.... if you can't do better than that you should be hitting from the red tees after the water, or maybe find a different sport....
