Well, yahoo groups and I do not seem to cotton - oh well. I wish pictures survived the divorce but alas, much was lost in that year. My current woodgas project has thus far spanned 2 years as I find I must work more than I care to. I am on call 24-7. Bummer. Yup, definitely better than shanks mare. Best of luck to ya.

Dude! I'm envious. I converted the 78' f100 I owned at the time in the early 80's. It had a 302cid also. I used the Mother Earth News plans as a guide. Thing is it was really underpowered. That 302 cid did not do nearly as well a 360 cid a friend converted. His gasifier was nearly identical. I was lucky to hit 55mph yet he could do 65 with ease. I forget the rear end ratio I had but his was 3.5. So how's your power?

The truck has less power on woodgas than it would on gasoline but it beats walking by a longshot,eh?I enjoy driving with woodgas and am planning to build more gasifiers for other applications.
I would like to hear more about you and your friend's gasifiers,do a search on "yahoo woodgas groups" and join in on the discussions.
I look forward to seeing photos of your woodgas project from the 80's !
