I've posted a new video making a 60 second argument against 18-wheelers on the dragon. Search for "Ban 18-Wheelers On The Dragon at Deals Gap, NC." or go to my profile (click my name) to see it quicker.

Yes 18 wheelers do travel Deal's Gap - I caught this one coming down the hill while taping my motorcycle buddies coming downhill!

  • Don't bother arguing with the truck drivers. Just ask them they are all the smartest person on the planet and the only person in the world that can drive. The funny part is they are dipshits.

  • You should not worry about the truck he knows what he is doing worry about the bikers or the 4whelers speeding ...speed kills always

  • Damn good driver. I live near the Dragon and I am a trucker, No trucker in his right mind would puposely run his rig through the Dragon. There's an advisory for truckers on 129, but by the time you see the advisory, youre stuck and you cant turn around. Your only choice is to run through. So lay off the truckers. Besides, on the Dragon, you're more likely in greater danger from a head on with an idiot on 2 wheels going much faster than his skills allow than anything else.

  • what the hell. that's TERRIBLE

  • I've driven the Tail and its a real gas. But when you go on there you assume that you're not on some Formula 1 track and you never know whats around the next curve, so you proceed with caution. You would think SEMI drivers wouldn't get on there unless its absolutely necessary, but i guess they have the same right to the road as i do.

  • If anything should be banned from this road it should be the motorcycles, how much freight can they haul?

  • @hammerhead300 On the contrary, there are exceptions in the law that allow trucks to swing over the centerline to make turns. In every Highway Act or Code which I've read (Ontario, New York, Tennesee and California) this exception exists, and to my knowledge exists in just about every other state's Traffic Code as well. If anyone has trouble seeing a semi coming at them in their lane, they are speeding or driving wrecklessly. Bikers should be riding like the world is out to kill them anyways.

  • That's dangerous.... and scary. And I was on the Dragon earlier this year just to enjoy it... what if one of these had hit me...

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld I know what trucks do. I've been around them all my life. Nobody's saying that trucks need to be banned from the Gap so that motorcyclists can go out and drag a knee on the pavement (which is illegal due to the speed limits anyway). You CANNOT make many of the curves on that highway with a semi without crossing the center line. That's illegal, and on the blind curves on that highway, extremely dangerous.

I ride sport bikes. Your opinion of them is ignorant at best.

  • @hammerhead300 Well think about it, trucks serve a purpose: moving cargo. These people commenting on this video believe that Deals Gap should be free of trucks so they can "test their skills". If you want to test your skills, go to a track. Doing knee dragging leans going into a blind corner while riding the yellow is extremely dangerous for everyone in the vicinity. Sport bikes literally serve no purpose other than to put a school-girl-esque smile on the riders face as he pretends to be cool.
