The largest and bloodiest battle of the French invasion of Russia took place on September 7, 1812, near the Russian village of Borodino. More than 250,000 troops fought and there were at least 70,000 casualties. Although the Battle of Borodino may have been a victory for Napoleon, it helped the Russian army to unite and ultimately free the country from the French invasion. Watch RT and find out how life was for the soldiers at Borodino 200 years ago.
