  • Chad Hedrick won the Northshore Inline Marathon in 57 minutes, 18 seconds in 1998. That record has never been broken to my knowledge.

  • At 2007 Engadin marathon in Switzerland a Belgian guy won in 54.56,87! That's due mainly to the tail wind, which there always blow.

Roger's time is worldrecord time, recognized and approved by the world ferderation FIRS, (Federation International de Roller Sports)

  • So his time for a marathon is below 56 minutes?

  • Roger is still world's fastest marathon speedskater: He won the 2003 european championship marathon in terrific 58 min 17 sec!

    Corresponding average speed: 43.44 km/h / 26.99 mph

Roger is herewith the official FIRS worldrecord man!

  • God I wish I could skate like that, and I sure wish I lived there looks much better than New Jersey lol.

  • @videodvdman whats the distance on those records

  • like sonic the hedgehog

  • This man has excellent technics, considering he's 2m tall. I had once in the wind, slightly dowhill, think over 50km/h, overdone my innerpush, fell on my right side, slide over maybe 10m on the asphalt. when u r at that speed and fall, there is nothing u can do, just try not to hit anything.

  • I speed skate all over Manhattan. One rainy night I was skating from the East to West side of town. A yellow cab cut me off, bumping me to the sidewalk where I hit steel grating and flew through the air like Superman. I landed like a baseball player sliding into second base. My head snapped down against the sidewalk. I spent two full days on the couch with a mild concussion. After 2 weeks the brain fog finally lifted and I was back to normal. I can't imagine not having had a helmet on.

  • That's how we race; I've got the scars to prove it! lol

  • I wish I could perfect that double push technique

  • rolling 4 life! i wish i could do your competiton...

  • Yes, even on bad road. You would adopt a more conservative push, or if things got really bad you would stagger/scissor your skates. Either way, if your weight is back over your heels there is very little that will send you forward.

I've personally been down at over 25mph when I overcooked a push on some crappy road, went down on my hip, slid for 25ft. before stopping in the dirt. It hurt, I ruined my shorts and had a nice rash. But only on my butt, and the hand I had behind at the time.

  • not if there is a piece of bad road
