HSR 1989 Orion V 8914 seen here on route 51 University. Powered by DDC 6V92TA w/ ZF ECOMAT 4HP590. That bus has retired already and went to scrapped.

  • That's what makes me like Allisons or Voiths.

  • Have you listened to the likes of UTS 8238 and Brampton Transit 9015 yet?

  • your decrip says it's a 4HP590...that i know. i stated it sounds like a 5HP590. in other words,it sounds like the 5 speed version of the HP590...not the 4 speed version...

  • Thank you for that mistake you corrected.

  • That one's a 1989 model Orion I 01.508 Suburban, actually.

  • Not Quite Exactly, the 6v92 has a Blower in that like the Orion V Transportation of Rockland of RC115. The Powertrain was the 6v92 and the HT740.

  • Lol. Nope. The Volgren bendies have Mercedes OM447hLA engines instead, but they are very loud machines when fitted to ZF. When the bus goes into a underground place and if the bus driver floors the accelerator, the whole underground place can almost hear the bus roar, its that loud !

  • Those had Detroit Diesel 6V92s in them? i know mostly all euro buses with the ZF tranny always have that "ow-oooo" sound when shifting.
