cruise with manifold set at 23 inches, and prop pitched back to 2400 rpm on our commanche 260b is about 150 knots or 180 mph. its a fast comfortable nice airplane.

......its actually called APACHE written by Jerry Lordan and recorded by the uk based HANK B MARVIN and THE SHADOWS June 1960 master of the FENDER STRATOCASTER guitar (he owned the first one in britain)
arguably this track set the sound for surf music
ala stratocaster guitar and precision bass drums and plenty of reverb and a little whammy bar :-)

I could look at comanche pictures all day. My grandfather owns a 250, white and blue. It's a hell of an aircraft, very beautiful too. My hands still smell like areoshell grease number 5 :)

I have only seen one of these in my time up close. It looks very roomy and sleek. I would love to fly one some day. What kind of cruise speed do they achieve?
