By the way, have you seen the three 'Meri Pasand' which covers Lata-ji with 52 Music Directors on my site? The songs are in 'zalak' form only, but are 'gems' of my choice.

your comment seems logical but at the same time I have not seen Lataji keeping Tanpura on her left side in any photograph. Moreover the saari worn by her seems natural in the present video. Technically today, any video can be laterally reversed easily, but this film is of forties or fifties period.

I am not aware about where this mehfil was held. From seeing the flickers in this video, it is very likely that it was filmed by a 16 mm camera.

I can't u thank enough.What a divine voice.I haven't heard her classical performance per se, not even a Natyageet, like Aasha.Thanks again Bakulji. Harish Bhimani had rightly said that we are the most fortunate human beings who breath the air which Lata breaths. Unfortunate will be gen-nexts who wont be able to do so, but they would listen her thru discs. The Most unfortunate are those who left this world before Lata was born.Her classical based hindi songs also tell the tale.

I have never come across pure classical rendering by Latdidi. This is indeed a rare gem not so much for the music but novelty.

I had only heard that such a recording existed. Aaj sunke dhanya ho gaye. Youtube is the modern technological Kalpavriksha and people like 1938bakul its benevolent branches that share their best fruits with its seekers.

What to say of Lataji ...after hearing this recording one feels that her thousands of songs are only a tip of the iceberg. Our Music Directors could have asked so much more of her...
