In the bible Jacob is the great grandfather of Aaron. hmmm. Aaron -> Claire/Jack -> Christian -> his dad from the old folks home -> JACOB!

I think the Jacob bloodline is the monarchy of the island, making him king.

The others seem to be a parliament with one constant second in command (Richard) who plays a role in choosing the next president or prime minister or whatever.

Seems an overall dictatorship but with room or utopian communism within the others' group.

yeah, I'm guessing the smoke monster doesn't know who John is, seeing as in the past it's always been a fair judge, it doesn't seem to me like it would take sides,

however; I cannot agree with you, when you say that "they're comming" is reffering to alana and thems, because you can see that John is quite fearful when Jacob tells him this, why would a super naturalbeing be scared of a few ordinary people? right now it's obvious that Richard and the others are on the same side as Alana and Brom. But the question of WHO, meaning Jacob or Jacob's Enemy, they support isn't clear. when jacob says "they're coming" that could (most likely) mean alana and the others, to confront the locke doppelganger. or it could mean...anyone else. And since ALEX aka the smoke monster told ben not to harm locke, did iot know that locke was actually Jacob's enemy? it didn't ever get to "scan" him....
