cool shelter, the only problem i ever have with these kinda shelters is, it takes SO much energy to gather than amount of leaves without a rake. totally agree with your garbage bag comment lol.

how long it takes you to build the shelter?

Good point about not wasting space. I have found very few who post this shelter even though . . it is the standard for a survival shelter.
Anyway,

Great video. Good to see someone actually staying in the shelters that they make. I love the Red River Gorge. Beautiful place all of the time but especially this this time of year. Thanks for posting... now I'm going out to my fire pit and make some cowboy coffee...lol

BTW have you tried a lean-to? I usually use one when I am out in the woods and it serves well if I manage the fire to go all night. I have never tried an A-frame and was wondering what are the pros and cons if compared.

great tips spooky! 5/5
and i agree with the reinforcing of it, i was working on one once and my dog plowed into it while i was in it and i fell on me! you wouldn't think its heavy but it is! lol great vid
Thanks guys!
I have used a lean-to a few times, it's another good option. I had intended to build one before the A-frame, but the tree location wasn't right for me. The lean to works well when you have a good fire and lots of fuel, and especially when wind is the main loss of heat and is coming from a specific direction. Both great options. But the lean-to definitely requires good fire supply.
