She sold a lots of records. It was RCA Red Seal, the most expensive label at the time. You need some variety in life and she fit in perfectly during the era of many great singers who were never satisfied with their own singing including Caruso. She was very happy with her own singing. It was harder to get a ticket for her concert at Carnegie Hall than World Series ticket.

she insists on doing what she's passionate about and found happiness in it. there are few people that are as confident as her when it comes to interpreting their art/ music all because of the social benchmark we have on how "good" music should sound like... yadayada....
i admire her. :)
