This is the original Arizona Lottery Pick drawings that were done by KTVK. This was the last drawing before changing over to the LOTTO name.

  • Checking at different lottery sites, Arizona now ranks last of all lotteries because all of their games are computer generated (sans PowerBall and MegaMillions). The rankings are based on some level of trust. Can't say their wrong, at least watching ping pong balls drop made you feel engaged in the drawing.

  • It's the same in IA and LA. For some reason in NE it's 19.

  • I will upload The Pick drawing from May 2, 1987 with the original music including the rendition of "Oh, Susanna" from the tape "JAWS"

  • Yep, both Massachusetts and Michigan used the Tulipe, as did Kentucky and of course, Arizona.

  • Why do you need to be 21 to buy lottery tickets, WTF ?!? It ain't beer, folks! AND you can gamble in the AZ indian casinos at 18, unlike most casinos where it's 21.

  • I think they also used a machine like that in Michigan.

  • Jim Howl was fired for illeged sexual harassment... I dont remember any details beyond that. Too bad, he was good at his job!

  • Hey, that's the same type of machine that Massachusetts used for at least 15 years.

  • Sweet. You can see a Ryo-Catteau Tulipe, and the logos for KTVK and KGUN. Of course, the AZ Lottery now uses computers to draw these numbers. Oh, and some prick at the state capitol raised the age to buy tickets there to 21 recently. Bastard.

By the way, whatever happened to Jim Howe?
