"work history" is the term I used. whether it's $100., $1,000., $10,000., etc. isn't what matters. what matters is that they have a "work history" showing they were producers.

By the 1830s America had been democratized. No longer any requirement for owning land to qualify someone to vote. The principle had become, One man, one vote.

Of course, blacks and women weren't qualified. That would come later. And of course there was, and still is, a lot of voter fraud. On election day candidates would sponsor beer wagons to take voters to the polling places.

You want to require work, and taxes to be paid, to qualify a person to vote? Not a bit simple.

You say that, if line 61 (total taxes) of someone's Form 1040 said $0.00, he should not be able to vote.

What if it said $1,000? He shouldn't vote? How about $10,000?

We would have a country of the weallthy, by the wealthy, and for the wealthy.

"Taxpaying public" ? Who dat? All of us pay taxes through sales. All of us pay taxes indirectly when businesses pay taxes (they just pass on the hit to us).

You must mean income taxes from wages. Once the principle (of needing to pay income taxes to vote) has been established, then a political party could raise the dollar amount of tax to screen out the not-so-wealthy voter.

then I'll make it a whole lot easier. only the taxpaying public is allowed to vote. people who work or worked their tails off, vote.

SS will issue a yearly card to everyone showing their work history. the card is presented as ID at the polling places.
