From his 1977 album Low

Lyrics:

You're just a little girl with grey eyes
Never mind, say something
Wait until the crowd cries
Oh, wait until the crowd cries
You're just a little girl with grey eyes

So deep in your room, you never leave your room
Something deep inside of me - yearning deep inside of me
Talking through the gloom
What in the world can you do
What in the world can you do
I'm in the mood for your love
For your love
For your love
For your love

Oh

I'm just a little bit afraid of you
Cause love won't make you cry
But, wait until the crowd goes
Oh, Wait until the crowd goes
I'm just a little bit afraid of you

So deep in your room, you never leave your room
Something deep inside of me - yearning deep inside of me
Talking through the gloom
What in the world can I do
What in the world can I do
I'm in the mood for your love
For your love
For your love

Oh, what you gonna say?
Oh, what you gonna do?
Ah, what you gonna be?

To be real me, to the real me
Under the cool, under the cool and under having a ball
What you gonna say to the real me, to the real me
Ahhhh, ahhhh, ahhhh, ahhhh, ahhh

  • @kevinthesummer While detoxing off coke there

  • @knottyrich It is the "Berlin trilogy": the three experimental albums David Bowie record with Brian Eno in the late 70s

  • @19HALLOWEENJACK84 what is this "trilogy" you speak of?

  • To the real me. One of Bowie's rare, true love songs. And love is truly scary ONLY because it's such an unusual thing: It doesn't fight or conflict. It merely exists, pure and forgiving. The crowd is all false illusions that seem so important until you meet a soul that doesn't ask any price from you. It just gives. To find that moment when two can just give and take only what is given, is the ultimate! It is recognized for its own gift, to the one giving! It doesn't need, ask anything in return.

  • great album, really <3

  • Great Drumming from Dennis Davis!!!

  • LOW is the best of the so-called "trilogy".
