Anindo Chaterjee Tabla Solo Teental Ramesh Mishra Sarangi

In this clip Anindo Chatterjee first starts with a traditional Faroukabad gat kaida. He then plays a playful Kherwa after which he transitions into an extremely difficult chakradar composed by Feroz Khan (Punjab Gharana) at amazing speed!

  • Tabla is not only about speed, there is a highly intellectual element, which some fail to apreciate.

  • i just went to one of his tour concerts in orlando florida(april 19, 2008). let me tell you. he is amazing snd so is his son. when you watch the youtube clips, it does not really give you the sense of how good he really is. he was playing stuff I never seen on his youtube videos before and with such clarity. Him and his son did a great solo together. they also played their fixed compositions which was really cool. Anindo chatterjee is indeed one of the most underrated tabla players we have.

  • @gt1111 I don't see how being widely considered to be in the "top 10" tabla players is being underrated.

  • @gt1111 Pandit ji isn't underrated. If you really want a list of tabla players (top level artists) who are"underrated"... do ask.

  • @budhwaterloo can you play a tabla like this? It's a very difficult composition which very very few or none tabla players dare to play and he has done it very effortlessly. He playes these compositions so that we get benefited and very few players try these things. Try appreciating all the beautiful things around you.

  • Zakirji is a great tabla player but if u listen to any recording of his you will find he has played the same compositions everywhere. But if u listen to Anindoji's tabla u will find that something new is being played. Both are great artists but i think Anindoji is very versatile and his playing is most effortless.

  • @Rockyd66 raga patdeep is the rag. maybe a mishra version of the raag as he uses rishabh on the arohi.

  • Pure Genius!

  • @ShastriyaSangeet

    Well Said !

  • every artist presents his art individually and so is every art unique in its own way. comparing artists to each other is just nonsense. cos everyone shows his art on his own way with his own feelings. its good to try to understad the art itself.
