The Sweet were no mugs as their chart music suggests, they were 'owned' by Chinn and chapman.
unlike todays 'Talent parasites' like Cowell these c could actually write songs and produce them. However when the bands shackle's were taken off they could play bloody well.
Iv never seen so many groupies lucky sods!
The song is a "b" side to hell raiser and a little similar to Led Zeps immigrant song, but a Rasper!

  • My first record from when I was 3 years old, I would spin this b side over and over . : P

I always associated this track with F1 racing . I really thought the guitar sliding at the beginning of the solo was the sound of F1 racing cars driving through the monaco tunnel . : )

    love it.

  • legendary band way ahead of their time

  • this track was played almost continually for about a week in my lunch time break at comp . come to the conclusion sweet were way ahead of there time with this one ,an its a pity it didn,t denote a turning point in their music path from glam. guess management pressure an commerciality put paid to any adventures in that direction . However the edgar winter group ,had a semi hit with frankenstein which is probly more inkeeping with this type of music jaundra .

  • Sweet's version of The Immigrant Song..Led Zep.

  • This was the first record by The Sweet I got for 10p at a school fair. Brilliant song and that instrumental sounds like a precursor to punk. :)

  • andy scotts the best guitarist of all the early 70s glam rock bands by far.

  • i had a warped copy and the andy scootsolo sounded even better!!! andy scott LEGEND

  • absolutely brill takes me back to being a teenager

  • yeah and its the original orange spining 45 ! i sooooo loved to play this record , the guitar sounding like an F1 car accelerating away and samples of the talking clock (123) . lol :P I was only 2-3 years old when i first played it on my old record player. perfectly awesome !
