This is an overview of a sewing basic elastic waisted straight skirt. This is an EXCELLENT starter project. This video focuses mostly on figuring out how big you need to cut your material according to your measurements. You do not need a pattern to make this basic of a skirt. It is just two rectangle pieces with a casing for the elastic and a hem at the bottom. There is also be other future videos for this 'series'. I will also show how to do a skirt in minature to get an easy picture of what needs done. The minature will be very basic and quick. Plus I will make some videos as I am sewing actual skirts for myself. On the real "life size" skirt you will be able to see the individual steps better hopefully. When I sew the ones for myself I will show you how to properly do a blind hem.
I love to wear skirts - thanks for teaching us.

I don't think anyone takes the time out to really teach as you do ... I just wanted to thank you for all that you do... we are blessed to have you in our life...

I really appreciate this. The last time I sewed was in Home Ec class back in 1999 or 200 or so. And even then I really didn't fell like I knew what I was doing even though I got good grades. I need someone to really explain something to me and this really helped! Thank you for your back to basics approach! It really helps people like me who are trying to live more simply!
