When you hear the words "Climate Change", what do you think of - last week's, thunderstorm, or something longer-term? Do you think the media gives credence to climate change deniers?
In this video Dr Ben Newell from UNSW's School of Psychology talks about the difficulties for climate scientists in cutting through misconception and misinformation to get their messages across.
Dr Newell has written a paper on the Psychology of Global Warming with Professor Andy Pitman of the UNSW Climate Change Research Centre.
nicely discussed..

@bofors7715 The global warming deniers of the 60s and 70s predicted an ice age. What ever happened to that? Oh I almost forgot, some of the deniers are still predicting an ice age.

@Hofsteder Thank you for giving me a beginning... It is easy to get discouraged when all you hear is rhetoric.

Where is the science on this issue.... i want to find deep science to reinforce global warming. It should be easy to tell me how it's happening... but instead i find propaganda. I want the facts in chemistry and mathematics. I need these to debate with people.

The obstacles to solving the global warming problem are not climatological, they are psychological.
