i never said, you are not allowed to be depressed. i was giving him advice, if you think your life is horrible look at someone worst off than you. a chemical inbalance can be fixed with the right kind of meds, and with that you can teach your brain to take different pathways, instead of turning to cutting yourself you can learn a more positive less destruction outlet. i know all this from experience, hes not the only one in the world who has problems. tough love dear, it can really help.

you know, saying you're not allowed to be depressed (which leads to self-harm) because 'there are people out there who have it worse' is like telling someone they're not allowed to be happy because people out there have it better. and besides, depression and the urge to self-harm is caused by a chemical inbalence of the brain which means that IT IS OUT OF THEIR CONTROL. you can't judge something you haven't experienced.
