A new concept vehicle using fuels that are kind to the environment was unveiled today by John Monnett at Sonex headquarters in Oshkosh. It is now on display at AirVenture at the Sonex booth. An hour of fast fun up to 240MPH with a Vne of 300. Empty weight about 350 lbs.

  • I believe John Monnett stated they were still developing an engine control unit and there were other engines under consideration, so this particular engine may not be the one that actually flies.

  • God, do any of these videos show these birds flying, or they all props that don't work? Comon people show them in the air.

  • What sort of jet engine is that?

  • @LOSTPRATT63 More lift at low speed.

  • @LOSTPRATT63 Swept wings are not conducive to low speed flight. This may be jet powered but it isn't going that fast.

  • only a million buckaroos

  • looks like a doodle bug (v1) to me

It's a plane you fly every now and then for the thrill and fun of it for a few dozen of minutes at a time, not a passenger jet. Those small turbines tend to be terribly inefficient anyway.

  • @oiseautempete

    Yes, yes it is.

  • probably 240 knots? How about proof?

  • two seats plsssss
