What the hell? Inductive charging system MIGHT be safer than 2, 3 or 4 direct contact charging, BUT... IT IS VERY WASTEFUL AND LOSSY. This is designed to diminish the power from the wall, to your car, FURTHER REDUCING THE EFFICIENCY of the vehicle. So out of say, 4,500 watts to the car, its probably drawing like 6,000 or or 7,000 at the wall.

This is stupid. My Toyota RAV4-EV plugs into any outlet, any place, either 240 or 120, just like an RV.

GM is STUPID.

Funny you should say that, since the RAV4-EV also uses an inductive paddle charger that is very similar to the one GM used. (Toyota's is a smaller paddle than the GM one)
The EV-1 also had an available "convenience charger" that was a small portable unit that could plug in and charge (slowly) from 120v.
I agree that a very important part of any EV is the ability to charge from all available sources.

liveoilfree's 240-120 charging system is different... take a look at his videos; they're very interesting.

This is not stupid.
It worked via induction, why not, if you have one standard, so that every car uses the same "plug" or paddle.

One of your RAV4-Evs has a paddle slot too.

It makes more clear that GM was very stupid to k.

Now GM is in big trouble, no one wants their gas guzzlers anymore...
