  • Berry, I crawled out of it, a little disoriented but able to walk and one of my pilot friends transported me to the hospital. Ended up in the trauma center at Memorial Herman, with three fractured vertebra, one dislocated, lots of lacerations and a dislocated right wrist. Stayed in the hospital for 4 days, back out and at the ministry I serve at. They want to do spine surgery but I have opted out for a neck brace to see if healing will occur. The damage was from the crash. Thanks for asking.

  • @buckdmb The injuries still sound pretty serious. That you survived was a testament the Lord has more work for you. Take care, and God speed in your recovery!

  • No, first time I crashed in this one. I was not the mechanic or builder. Flew it for a friend who had little tail dragger experience. The weight and balance was off for sure and with the power out the situation became impossible. Three options, 1st land straight ahead and hit the hugh electrical towering wires in front of me that run parallel to the airfield, or 2nd do a hard left bank and stall the plane into the ground at 375 feet or a gentle right bank and risk other wires. Hit but alive!

  • @buckdmb I'm glad you survived the incident. Were you injured at all? When I drove by the scene hours later, I couldn't tell if much of the damage to the cockpit was caused from the crash itself, or from rescuers try to get you out.

  • Berry, thanks for that blessing in the Lord.

  • Isn't this the second time that dude has crashed? Btw me and my family drove past this when this happened

  • Clearly the problem with the engine was that....it was no longer attached to the airplane
