This episode of "Faces of New England" catches Keith Lockhart, Conductor of the Boston Pops, in the basement of Symphony Hall as he gets his game face on for the upcoming season.
This is great. Love Lockhart, love Williams, love Fiedler, love the Pops! It's a fantastic tradition, and each conductor has brought the right tone and the right spirit for their time. Thank you so much for posting this!
I remember 1977 Keith came to work for my department at IBM East Fishkill, for a summer break from Syracuse University, and I told him, "Anyone in the classical music field only becomes famous after they're dead!" Well, other than showing he could type besides playing about 30 instruments, he's really made me glad he didn't listen to me! I'm so proud of his achievements. Good going, Keith ...Roy (The other only guy typist in the department.)
@QuadSpot Judging by the way you write your words, Someday when you grow up you may learn the talent of Mr. Williams puts this clown to shame!
