@jellycat220 yes indeed

@hacker77328 just cause its an interpretation of the song doesn't mean its not groovy. also, this version is in no way a "country hodown" what so ever.
personally i think the sax player played it on top of the beat because thats how the rest of the band is playing the song and if you listened to the recording of "Ah Um," the sax runs are actually behind the beat on purpose.
its just so happens that this particular band wanted to play it with there own style

boring bastard

Hacker, I think they put this into more of a rock style. Which isn't necessarily wrong, just different.
It was kind of weird though. I'm not sure what to think.

I agree...

The drums solo seems familiar.... (In the top) Isn't it from Sing Sing Sing...?

guy fantasy is my uncle. *nods*
i'm not going to lie
i'm a huge mingus fan...love the big band, dynasty, and the original mingus combo(s)
and this almost made me die...your little "jam" in the beginning was...weird...
the beat for the song is all wrong...your turning it almost into a country hodown...and i could be wrong, bu the sax player really screwed up the 8th runs, a lot
on an unrelated note...the piano/organ solo was nice
