  • Nice tune!

    Who is it?

  • 5 *****

  • Regrets? None...oh wait, just one. Not seeing Charlie Parker at Birdland.

You see I was born in 1948. Darn.

  • A very nice tribute.

  • Jazz artists of this era took the beat away from the bass drum and kept time with the cymbal, at a fast tempo in order to differentiate it from swing and in the process elevate it to a higher art form.

  • beautiful thank you

  • Wow, I wish I was born earlier to be able to be a part of THAT scene. MUch cooler than what we have today. Thanks to people like you for keeping Bird alive...

  • Great tribute. I remember seeing 'trane there in the early 60s, I was sitting in the "peanut gallery", as a teen. All that's missing is Pee Wee Marquette in his Phillip Morris uniform. :)

    Thanks for posting this!

  • Well done, some beautiful pictures and great music! Thanks, man.
