Jazz artists of this era took the beat away from the bass drum and kept time with the cymbal, at a fast tempo in order to differentiate it from swing and in the process elevate it to a higher art form.

Great tribute. I remember seeing 'trane there in the early 60s, I was sitting in the "peanut gallery", as a teen. All that's missing is Pee Wee Marquette in his Phillip Morris uniform. :)

Bebop and Destruction tune Danger 3rd rail. The original music I had fit the photos way better but had some copyrite problems.
