Araneta Center

The Araneta Center is a 35-hectare commercial area in Quezon City, Philippines. Araneta Center Inc. (ACI) is the owner, developer and manager of Araneta Center, which brings in an estimated 1 million visitors daily. The centerpiece of the complex is the Araneta Coliseum, the largest entertainment venue in Asia with a seating capacity of 25,000. It opened as the world's biggest indoor arena in 1960.

The Araneta Center is currently being redeveloped into a mixed-use area that will integrate residential and office buildings to a redeveloped shopping and entertainment complex. In 2004, ACI's landmark project, the Gateway mall opened its doors to the public. Gateway forms part of the redesign of the Araneta Center. The Center itself is undergoing a massive 20-year redevelopment plan. Walkway structures for railway transit line commuters have been constructed to serve as an all-access way for shoppers to roam freely around the complex

The Araneta Center comprises Gateway mall, Ali Mall, Farmers Plaza, Farmers Market, Aurora Tower, SM ShoeMart Cubao, ShopWise Cubao, Araneta Coliseum and IT park. High-income class home residences will be incorporated into the Araneta Center. They are Manhattan Parkway Residences, Manthattan Parkview Residences, Manhattan Heights and Manhattan Plaza. Araneta Bus Center will be replaced with Manhattan Heights.

The Araneta Coliseum is an indoor multi-purpose sports arena located in the Cubao area of Quezon City, Philippines.

Gateway Mall is a shopping mall complex located at Araneta Center. Also underway at Araneta Center is a mall expansion and construction of the Gateway Tower. Gateway Mall has won some awards in terms of its mall design and tenant mix which made the mall to become the 2006-2007 shopping mall of the year. The mall features more than 300 shops and restaurants anchored by Rustan's, Food Express, a 9 Digital Cineplex and a Globe Platinum Cinema and a games arcade.

Novotel hotel will be constructed next to Araneta Coliseum.

The Araneta Center Master Plan represents a bold new development concept. It will mix state-of-the-art retail, entertainment, commercial, hotel and residential uses in a complementary, transit oriented development pattern within lush "garden city" environment that will attract a wide range of public and private activities.

Integrated into the whole development will be an information technology backbone that will provide state-of-the-art communications, networks, utilities, and other technology support facilities to support existing and nurture the development of new, information technology oriented companies and individuals.
