  • It was probably just cheaper to get Ozzie, hehe. That's not to say he wasn't a good player, but he wasn't nearly as high profile as a Griffey or Bonds. By the way, that actress who played the psychologist is named Diane Weist. She won an Academy Award in 1992 for her role in the movie "Hannah and Her Sister," if I'm not mistaken.

  • @smoothALOE Yeah, I know I've seen her before. She always sounds really somber in this movie. They plunked down money for Steinbrenner. I'm sure they could have gotten a Bagwell or Matt Williams close to Ozzie's prices.

  • Well, also, what you have to take into account is that the last batter of a 9-inning perfect game will be the #9 hitter. Having Barry Bonds, Mark Mcgwire, or any other player known for their hitting abilities bat 9th wouldn't have made any sense at all, so the choice of Ozzie Smith actually makes a lot of sense. It's also a bit of a joke.

It's cool to see a review of this movie.

  • @JoarSupurEthics True. Just isn't very climatic.

  • barry bonds is only scary because hes a freakin steroid addict, where ozzie is a true great along with the cards

  • @psudo13 Agreed man, but when a homerun is the threat I find Bonds a lot more scarier, although Ozzie probably had a better chance at getting on base.

  • I thought the same of Ozzie as you but when you think about it in order to pitch a perfect game you had to face the 9 hitter there and you wouldnt see Bonds 9th on any team and although he is not a threat to hit home runs Ozzie can certainly make contact

  • great movie! it was just hilarious all around.

  • @Jaysin31 You have a good read on anything that is slightly annoying.

  • @manascare51 Albert Brooks

  • Damn, was al mel brooks?
