UFO! Landed in front of me so I thought I would film it.

yes this is a stirling engine runing off air being heated by the sun or radiant energy ,as the air warms in the lower part it pushes the piston up. cool air returns to the lower part and is reheated and the carno cycle repeats.

That is obviously a solar powered Stirling engine. There is a clear covering on top that allows sunlight to shine in but underneath it is painted black to absorb the light. The top area gets hot. It has two power pistons and through the clear sides you can see the displacer (the big wafer thing) moving up and down. The bicycle wheel flywheel has a counter weight that balances the pistons so the displacer must be very light (probably polystyrene foam).

its a sex toy for the lesser spotted giant space cow. very common in other parts of the night sky. like all space cows the lesser spotted is known to devour the bull after mating which leaves them needing alternative means of tension relief. these days the bulls, fearful for their lives, are mostly gay and steer a wide birth around the amorous females.

one wonders of the future for this now endangered species.
