Dual boot Windows 7 and OSX Leopard
(Part 1 of 2)

"Materials":

Software:
-Windows 7 ultimate x64
-iATKOS v7 OSX Leopard 10.5.7
-EasyBCD

Hardware:
-Core 2 Duo e6750
-PNY 8800GT
-4GB GSkill ram
-GAP35-DS3L gigabyte motherboard

Used this guide: http://tinyurl.com/y88vym3

Check compatibility here: http://tinyurl.com/d93dc

Long story short is:

Start with Windows installed. Creat a new partition with disk management and set it as active. Make it at least 8GB, I used 20.
Pop in you OSX distro and boot from it. Once in the main menu, go to Utilities, Disk Utilities; Select your prepared HDD (that you made in windows) and erase it, make sure you format it as MAC OSX Journaled.
Hit the "Customize" button and select the proper drivers for you PC, check the compatibility list to see what's right for you.
Then install.

Once Installed, shut down PC and pop in your windows 7 DVD.

See part 2:)

  • @WorldIndustriesWWE check some forums, probably a driver issue

  • Hi! I've got some problems with this dual boot. Everything goes just fine: new harddrive, fully erased in OSX, installation with costum drivers, as OS x 86 project says, installation starts. But then when he should restart, he gives a message like: server shutdown bootstrap_register... and so on. And a couple of seconds later this message shows up: killing all processes or something like that.

The pc starts up again, but boots into windows immediately.

Can you please help me? Thanks!

  • @Q852 sounds like a driver/hardware problem, make sure you have the correct drivers or posts your problem on some forums, more specifically and you should get more in depth help ;)
