It is not that he is not happy. He just has the unparalleled determination to win. Without that he could never have got past pete's record nor win the FO. He got over this loss alright.
If that drive/determination ..call it whatever you want, is not there, nobody can achieve.

I am glad for DelPo as a human being. To me Fed has never been a great champion - because he is not happy? He thinks fame, achievment, riches, marraige will give. He has all - but not happy! If he goes in wind-storm for few hours still & silent, he will know he is nothing - then he will be happy always! Hope for him.
