My grandpa John Van Liere from Colton, SD appeared on The Price is Right on March 25, 1987. He makes it all the way to the showcase showdown.

  • Crazy that you know that many details on TPIR. I was never sure if I had the right date, only went by the date that was written on the VHS tape. Thanks for the info on my grandpa's episode.

  • i wonder can u put the whole episode up

  • Cell phones were expensive and fairly new at the time too. I don't know how much spas cost at the time, the the Gerico portable spa on game shows at the time was worth $3295. Don't know if that cost $8K or not.

  • GOlden Road/Penny Ante/Bump/Take Two/Give or Keep/One Away was the lineup.

  • This was the 3110th aired episode. Friday 3/27 was the episode 3112 where TPIR became the longest running game show in daytime TV history, toppling the original Concentration. And some people thought they never had baby furniture on the show before this week's baby shower episode, guess what :)

  • It's great people like your grandpa that make me love "The Price is Right" my entire life. I was on the show in 2006, and I remain a fan, even since Bob had dark hair.
