36 rescued after big waves hit boat on the east coast of Cabuli island in El Nido.

We are standing on the roof.. We were sitting inside, and we had to quickly climb onto the roof. The younger helped the old. Many were panicking.

I'm the man with the shaved head who shot the video.

  • Yes of course thanks to the owner of la Salangane who came at least 15 minutes before the coast guard, and thanks to Art Cafe for there help after. Remenber that many people was not on the boat wainting but where on the water for a long time and some came back on the roof because they took the decision that it was more safe to stay and the rest of them tried to swim on land

  • Wow! that's how ANY shark movie usually starts!

  • the best things to do before a boat sink

    record it

  • @RalfyRalfy Many people were using their phones to call for help. Maybe someone was tweeting for help. It was on January 2 at 12:15, Manilla time. Any way to look back? I was on the boat with with a Chinese card in my phone. Never again!

  • @lynchi33 You're right. Another world! What if we had all been lost at sea but some videos were retrieved. I am glad this is not what happened to us, I left my SLR camera in the bag you see attached on the Mast. It was miraculously salvages along with the iPhone. Not the Kindle and the MAcBook Pro however. Thanks to Amazon to replace the Kindle for free! Going shopping for the rest!

  • I was on the boat. FYI The man talk in French if you exclude the noticeable F word. We were just scared and yes it is amazing that someone video although we were on that boat for over two hours before rescue. We could not do much more than wait and hope someone comes. Our rescuers were owners of a highly recommended restaurant and lodge in EL Nido called La Salangane and also great help for Art Cafe. Please travel carefully in this superb area. Do your own risk assessment and enjoy!

  • @RhinoSanderson Fun idea, are you getting money to say that? No true of course! I was on the boat and know the man! Cheers!
