Despite being in a state of relative penury I decided to reward myself for a week of hard work with a new baccy to try, that other heavy-weight of British OTC blends, the mighty Condor Long Cut!

  • Great review.. love the pipe. I will have to give Condor a go.. I last smoked it when i was a kid when i had a checky puff or two on my uncles pipe.. Cheers, Tim

  • @Milverton68 Be interested to know what you think of it, Tim. I think my tastes are evolving to make them quite similar to yours.

  • Interesting review Jim - for some reason I tend to associate Condor with Falcon pipe smokers. I might try it again. Thanks for posting.

  • @significantguy Mmm...I agree! I actually quite want to try a Falcon. They would be great for travelling with if one acquired a few different bowls. Perhaps a small PAD is coming on!

  • So the 'Ah! ......Condor!' moment could be a combination of the smell and taste of soap combined with a lightheaded high? Like finding yourself sharing a bath with a soaped up Cheryl Cole?

  • @raindog951 Now there's an image to conjure with!

  • just ordered a pouch of condor long cut and a pouch of st brouno , is it really $10 for a 25g pouch thats what I paid darn expensive but worth it to try out some old english otc brands

  • A fine review! I just re-tried the Condor green, and it wasn't as potently floral (or soapy, really) as I'd remembered.

  • @curleyteeth I found the ready rubbed to be a little soapy, but the flake is almost.... spicey? with a hint of bbq sauce? I love it!

  • ijust don,t understand where you get the soap taste from condor or st bruno.I have smoked both for 20 years or more and just don,t get the soap.

  • Excellent review, I have been smoking the range of Petersons tobacco but the Condor Long Cut without doubt gives a more "satisfiying" and wholesome smoke

  • @PipesterJim Hahaha! Yes! Makes me want to go and buy a pack of Condor right now......

  • Hi, Jim--

I think that I shall never see

    A review of Condor un-soapy.

    Or something like that...

    Cheers,

    Crow

  • Cool video, enjoy learning about blends not available here in Canada.

    All the best.
