OMG! I cannot believe I am hearing this song after 2 decades!!!!!! I swear it brings backs really old and fond memories of watching this drama serial as a family... Mind you, I am a malay! Hahaha... I learnt more Mandarin here than anywhere else by watching these serials. I understand my Chinese friends better too. If you remember, we did not have all these NE education or whatever harmony day we have in schools to remind us we need to make friends with other races BUT we do it automatically!

A good film that tell the hard work of the early immigrants of Singapore. Without them, we may not see Singapore today, or maybe Malaya.

A good film to be used as the teachings of Singapore history and a good film to show modern kids that what they have today are not to be taken for granted.

really missed these old but meaningful song, esp when the lyrics can really express those heartfelt feelings esp when ur love ones passed away, only these song can reminds of beloved elderly sacrifics for their younger generations but youth nowsday seem so unappreciative to elderly nowsaday. Wish Medicorp replay these shows more, my parents missed such shows too n the millenmum babies should know abt the past history - will somebody do smthing except Mesume

ya, that's a bit sad.. our education and social system have to change a bit if we want to improve both our mandarin and english to world level. foreigners still fascinate by how singaporean able to twist the vocab and tone of english into something alien.
