This clip is a video of my family, celebrating Thanksgiving Day back in 1985, in the middle of the Navajo Indian reservation, in Lukachukai, Arizona. My grandfather came over from Naschitti, New Mexico, to celebrate Thanksgiving with us. Thanksgiving is a holiday that is celebrated by southern Native Americans.

My grandfather, Wado Bochinclonny, was born June 12, 1910. He passed away this year, September 11, 2008. He lived 98 years. He served in World War II, worked in silver and copper mines all over Colorado, and as a rancher at the end of his life. The languages spoken are Navajo and English language.

We miss you grandpa. Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Reminds me of home, 24 years ago. I've been gone from the rez too long. But not long enough to forget my language, I understand perfectly.

  • when the video comes up it says private. but it lets me watch it anywho. i am a private person, and your family look sweet as.
