North Korea faced South Korea in a 2010 World Cup Qualifying match. This historic match between two countries that are technically still at war took place @ Seoul World Cup Stadium on April 1st, 2009.
@PyrimidKingJindai , well the teams that have North Korea in their qualifying group. The only team that is not allowed to play in North Korea is South Korea, because the North refuses to allow South Korea's flag on its territory.
@enzoheartbreak, you're wrong on both counts. North Korea does NOT play its matches at the May Day stadium. The May Day stadium is gernally reserved for special occasions such as the Airirang Mass Games. DPRK play home matches at the Kim Il Sung Stadium and the Yangakdo Stadium.
This particular match was played in Seoul. DPRK played the home leg of this fixture in Shanghai because they refused to allow the South Korea flag on DPRK soil.
