THIS IS THE THIRD PART IN THE 'ALTERNATIVE REALITY SHOW' FROM CHICAGO.

some look at you
and some stare
everywhere you go

you can find these people there
walking down the street when you are happy
at a party where all are friends
in a store or church and restaurant

everybody counts

your mom and dad
your dog and bro

and looking at you
when you smile too

if you are sad or self absorbed
your gaze is low and your mind afloat
there are no smiles for you to see

what is behind a smile
is it more then a moment when senses cry joy
more then a flash that erases the pain of a mind adrift
what does it erase
what does it leave behind
is it and appointment for future pleasure
or disappearing like petals in the wind

@reddhottmama To be honest, this one of my personal favs, since its a collab with chicagoalmose and calz. The recording went so smooth -- and Calz I was taking turns -- he was working with the drums in a way that amazed me, and then alans footage from Chicago was as always so fascinating. In due time me and Alan has completed what will become a DVD with an alternative realityshow from Chicago, and one of my big dreams is to come there and perform it with Alan in a small theatre or club.

I also have a very special connection to Chicago which goes back to 1978 when me and my cousin traveled in USA interviewing american poets. But we were always short of cash, so in Chicago I played on the street with my Ibanez 12 stringed guitar -- and there was this black lady who came up to me and donated a dollar. So all the time when we now 30 years later make these videos/song I always have the face of that old woman with me, and the deep gratitude I then felt when she helped us.
