i used to drive coaches in and out of the matilda on a daily basis and my opinion is that it is so dangerous .they should have something with it years ago i have had so many close calls there it would matter what they do there will still be accidents far to many lives have been lost on the stretch of road the police always say that on public holidays they will be out in force but you never see them
14000 young people hospitalisd every year due to traffic accidents, thats around 40 a day, when you work on percentages the road fatalities in Australia is a bigger dissaster than 911, how much money did we spend after that, our Governments just don't get it.
@ozlonestar My feelings are never hurt by an idiot....some people are just strange...and it is people like that that think they are fine and EVERYONE else has the problem LOL ummm hello, she doesn't see the link ....sad... i love Brad, i know he made an error, i know his intentions and i know something needs to be done so we can make this road safer...simple as that...
PS thanks to oztruckintv founders, you are doing what I just don’t have the strength to do at this time (we are still at weeks) I can’t wait to join hands with you and fight for safety for all on this killer road EVEN Dianne! no especially Dianne... Lesley
Dianne: Who knows, tyres blow - cars slip a little in the wet. Think about that next time you drive past those huge semi trucks...do you think if that happened we would attack you? No way! Unforgiving stretch of road, that is way out-dated for the amount of traffic that is on it. I love you Brad, we know you didn’t set out to drive into the path of a truck and kill yourself or hurt anyone else that day. Mummy
We pasted that intersection just 1 hour before Brad's accident to see a huge line of traffic waiting to turn. Add to that the long weekend traffic which I recall was the thickest I’d seen since the Christmas break. Plus the 6 streams of traffic one has to watch when making that move and yes Brad's inexperience - and it was a deadly mix. It is people like you Dianne that make the changes that are needed, that much harder to get. I pray for you while you're on that road.
NoosaDiane: are you saying it isn’t the road, or the intersection? That being the case, it is the drivers of that road that are bad drivers? Based on this you are in danger as you are one of us... All we want is the road made safer. Like down at Eumundi they put an overpass - problem solved. We are not blaming anyone, we are saying lets not have this again.
We really value all the support. We live on the most deadliest road in qld. Many many times, we have come around fatal accidents on this road. And that intersection has had many fatals just in the 9 short years I have lived here.
A very thoughtful video from oztruckintv explaining the difficulty at this intersection, @NoosaDianne Think of those who are trying to make this intersection safer for YOU every time you use the Matilda.
