Can you play it like a 12 string guitar?

The portuguese guitar is a 12 strings instrument. Is tuned like B-A-E-B-A-D (from treble to bass). In Coimbra sound, the guitar is transposed 1 tone down. Some instrumentals for portuguese guitar could be matched to classical guitar (but the sound in general is not equal nor the way of playing).

oi gostei muito do video graças a ti torna-se bem mais facil aprender a tocar guitarra portuguesa a qualidade de video chega perfeitamente e está bem sincronizada com audio. só podia pedir mesmo é que a camara estive-se mais para a direita (para o seu lado esquerdo) para se ver melhor as posições que os dedos ocupam nos trastes.

Frist, the portuguese guitar as in deed 12 strings but there in pair because both make the same melody so its consider 6 strings the pairs is for certains effects that you can make in the guitar like cross finger were you hit the same string back and forward

Greetings fellow English-speaking Fado(& Flamenco?)fan! There are a few different theories on the roots of each. None that I have seen suggest that Fado came from Flamenco. I have, however, read that they may each have had some Moorish roots.

I Believe the Music of Fado originated from Flamenco Music, since they both sound alike: Passionate, Glorious, Joyful, Happy, Sad, etc. Fado is like the slower & somewhat more Beautiful version of Flamenco.
