Whenever humans are faced with a situation where they have to see/view or deal with any form of human suffering, there are usually two very distinct reactions.

1. People will ignore that situation and act like its just not happening at all. If they are not dealing with it then it doesnt exist..

2. People get angry at those who make the documentaries or bring the stories of those who need back to those who can do something about the suffering.

Personally I think that the anger that people exhibit stems from a guilty conscience. I think that when you watch the image of a starving child, then on a subconscious level you realize that you have the ability to do something. Its a situation where a tragic reality confronts your true inner self & most people would rather not deal with that deep guilt so they lash out instead.

Anyway, the question is:
Is there a conflict of ethics?

  • I'm an asshole so often in life, take so much for granted. Heh... Some people really do not know what they have... Even the small things.. Water, food, clothing and shelter... Our World needs to open their eyes... We live such sheltered lives... Like the rest of the World does not exist.. This pains me deeply...

    Thanks for the video posting..

  • I really dont think you are an asshole at all, I just believe that people are the way they are & never know what they have until they are thrown into a circumstance of seeing how we always take so much for granted. I do thank you so much for watching.

  • So many thoughts and emotions come up when I view this. I have had the same struggle withing as to this being exploitation or an necessary media vehicle to get the message out. In the end this needs to be shown! I at times just wonder what our ancestors think of what so many of us have become. The ones who actually can help yet do nothing but bicker semantics. Humans have failed and at the same time excel-ed. Just disheartening. I will also share this

  • Mstly I just think that when people see are confronted by human suffering there tends to be a reaction of guilt & that is why they end up angry. The same reason people will no acknowledge a homeless person on the street etc

People tend to project their guilt in the form of anger onto the person who brings the reality of human suffering into their reality of abundance. It forces people to realize that they have the capability 2 alleviate suffering but they never attempt 2 reach out 2 the needy.

  • This is a fantastically inspirational video, would I be able to use it for a short film I am making about media desensitization for school? I can give full accreditation.

  • el mundo no es correcto tanta gente millonaria consumiendo platos de comida costosos y desperdiciando toneladas de comida en restaurantes y estos pobres nenes sobreviviendo con una galleta
